My journal of my battle with Crohns disease. I have had Crohn's diagnosed since September 2007. In that time I've been through two surgeries, two colonoscopies, and tons of good and bad times. I want to share my experiences with this disorder and hope to hear some feedback from time to time.

Toilet Seat Preference

Sunday, October 25, 2009
I was just wondering if you all have a favorite toilet seat. The one that's in my apartment sucks because it's too small, but I haven't changed it yet. When I do get a new one, I want to make sure it's perfect.

I don't really like the padded type, because after awhile they crack and hurt. I don't know if there are different types of padded seats or just the cheap ones people always seem to have. The most comfortable seat I think I have found is usually on public toilets. They are usually elongated, with the inside carved downward, and the front portion cut out.

I have been looking at Home Depot's site and there are a ton of options.  If you all know any good ones that you love let me know. Thanks.

i have never replaced the toilet seat in my apartments before, but someday when i've a domicile of my own, i will. and it will be a bidet. you should really look into one of those if you're willing to make the investment :P

I've looked at a ton of bidet type seats. The cheapest I can find is around 200.00. I know it would help with the pain and keeping me clean.

Thanks for the comment

A bidet is usually not a toilet. There are varieties that combine bidet and toilet. See the following for more info on a bidet:

Yeah. There are seats that add bidet functionality.

I don't like padded toilet seats. One feels like one is going to slip off.

I know what you mean Houndsgood. To me sitting on those you get sweaty and slip around. Thanks for the comments all.
